The House - Up with Trusses!

Woo hoo!!! We have Trusses up! One more BIG thing down! We are extremely ready to get the roof on!

We bought our trusses from Tri-State Trusses here in Woodward and you work with their designer to get everything right and they build them for you and how many you need and then they deliver them! Then you have the option to put those heavy things on your roof by your own means or hire their crane and operator for the time needed for him to set them on there and in place. That's what we did; hired the crane.

Kenton, Jacob's oldest brother, came from Tulsa to help for a couple days with this process as he is part monkey! Haha! Jacob and Kenton got the front trusses put on the front room the day before the crane was scheduled to come. They were light so this was a pretty easy task for them.

I think Truss Day was the most exciting, nervous, and stressful day so far.

It was so exciting to see the house taking more of it's form but the guys were trying to be quick and accurate and well that just makes things stressful. I was glad I was on the ground and just providing food, drinks, and a yummy lunch (if I do say so myself).

Woo hoo! Trusses are up! Yay! Fweh.... (wipe of the brow)

Now the next thing to do is put the soffits and front porch on and decking....

OH! But wait! We've got to take a week and a half intermission for the rain and snow... great....

Well I'm glad the snow is behind us and the water is all cleaned up out of the house! Kenton is coming on Friday and Jacob and Grandpa Kenny and other help will work on soffits this week and hopefully we will see roof... I'M TALKING SHINGLES... on Monday! Yaya!

The House - Up with Walls

"Pumped!" would be an understatement of how excited we were when walls started going up! We could see the actual space more accurately and start to really envision how it was going to be! And when I say we could more accurately envision, I mean me, because Jake's just good like that! Haha!

Day One & Two (or something like that): So on the first day, Jacob and Grandpa Kenny worked on laying out the base plates and getting them cut to size and drilling out the bolt holes.

On the second day, Jacob and Grandpa started early laying out the first and longest wall, which is the north wall. My dad and Josh came soon after and helped build the smallest wall on the front and set it up! The first wall! Whoo! Grandpa Wayne came later to help to and as the sun set on the second day we had the north long wall up, the supporting master bedroom wall, and the two front bedroom short walls. Jacob and I came out after supper and worked by lamp light laying out the front door wall.

Day Three: A big day for framing! We had lots of help! Jacob, me, my dad, my Grandpa Kenny, Molly & Josh, Darren, Tim, and Greg. We got all the exterior walls up and the walls between the house and the garage up! Whoo! Lots of progress! And we started the master bathroom wall!

On Sunday, Day Four: Jake and I went up to the house to work on something and Darren showed up to help as well! Darren fixed the height of the kitchen window and Jake and I built a closet.

The rest of the interior walls popped up on the next day, Day Five, Monday, President's Day.

All the walls are up and Sheeting will begin soon!

Jacob and I put up the bottom row of sheeting along the north, west, and east wall and then Grandpa Kenny came to help him finish that row up. Then came the second row with Darren helping as well.

McCarty Wedding! A Chilly December 10th!

Jacob and I had a wonderful time photographing this lovely winter wedding! It was a frosty ride to Kansas that Saturday morning. The church was dressed to the nines with holiday cheer! The bride and groom looked gorgeous and their love for each other was definite! We had so much fun with this couple!! May God truly bless your marriage Mr. and Mrs. Travis and Kelly McCarty!

The House - Pouring the Slab

This is has been one of the most exciting parts so far! We were pretty excited with the dirt work, but now that the slab is finished, we can get to work!

It felt like the concrete people we never gonna finish, and, yes, we were frustrated, but at the same time, we were understanding since concrete work is so dependent on the weather and it being winter doesn't just up your chances of getting it done quickly. They did a great job in the end though!

Below the fill sand is delivered to level out the floor! And the workers get to work leveling it out!

Since this blog post covers several days, I'm going to help you understand how long it takes by labeling the days.

Let's call the next two photos Day One And then the three photos after that Day Two

It was such a sigh of relief when they started all this!

At the end of Day Two, Jacob and I started cutting the 2 inch foam to go in the floor under our radiant floor heat pex pipe. This foam was an added cost that we had budgeted for. It's not standard. But we are doing stained concrete floors in the house and so we decided to use the money saved from the cost of carpet, tile and/or wood floors and do radiant floor heat to help be more energy efficient. And it's a waste if you don't insulate the floor from that heat going down into the dirt, hence, the 2 inch foam.

It was nasty stuff to cut! I was brushing foam bits off my coat for a week!

Cutting the foam is the end of Day Two.

And now we are at Day Three!

This day they had the house portion finished leveled out and the concrete people worked on forming up the stem wall in the garage. Jake, my dad, and I worked on laying down the 2 inch foam after the Termite Pre-Treat Spray was sprayed around the perimeter and throughout the whole house.

This next section of photos shows us laying the foam. Viewer digression advised seeing as how I sat on a piece of rebar, ripped my pants, and felt it necessary to share with you! (No worries, it's only rated PG)

Above you see where most of the rebar in the house is in place and we are packing dirt under foam corners that were hanging over.

And now Day Four!
More rebar was delivered early morning and the workers show up to lay the rest in place, use pig tails to tie them together and put chairs under the rebar to lift the rebar from being directly on the foam.

As soon as the rebar is finished in the house, Dad, Jake and I start laying the radiant floor heat down and tying it down to the rebar with zip ties.

It took from like 1pm to 7pm to install the radiant floor in the house. But it was really fun to install! Well except the pipe mixed with the cooler weather made for a difficult pipe to work with, not wanting to uncoil.

Now here we are! Day Five!

Today is the day to pour! How exciting! The crew shows up when the sun comes up and starts tying up loose ends before the concrete trucks arrive.

The rebar (like the one I sat one) on the edge that ties from the footings up into the slab needs to be bent down (thank God, no more rebar to sit on or dodge). And then the trucks arrive to pour! Whee!

Oh man! I was pumped! The house looks great and they have started leveling the garage as they wait on the house to finish setting up before they power trowel it. Jake helped out! Good thing too!

At the end of Day 5 we have a slab! Jake stayed up late to make sure no critters waltzed across the garage floor while the garage floor was still vulnerable.

In the morning of Day Six, the birds are singing praises to the Lord and workers are here to pull forms and score the garage floor.

What a beautiful Slab! At the end of Day Six, we have a reached the end of this monotonous waiting on the concrete crew. They did a great job though!

The House - Underfloor Plumbing

Here's a little mailbox update for you! :D Not a huge change from the last one, the plants have died from the cold and it's a little banged up from the dirt truck catching the handle but still looking good! You can see there's dirt piles indicating change up top!

Below is a nice view of the newly established driveway and the house. Then there are photos of the plumber installing the drain lines that ultimately lead out of the house!

We've got power too! We were excited that we were able to hook on to Northwestern Electric's Power!

Below you can see that the plumbers are still working to finish, finishing up the drain lines and starting to install the lines from the water heater to where they will be in the walls to faucets and such!

It was exciting to see the underfloor plumbing finished! It helped us visualize the size and spaces of rooms. And when I say us, I mean me, because of course Jacob can visualize hence, him designing the layout.

We were very excited to get power up on the land! Now we have water and power and plug in when we need the power!

Jacob climbed a tree to the far south of our land to take a picture of the house! Looks a lot bigger from above!

Below are some photos of before and after! The top is the before and the bottom is currently after. The before photos are before we had started anything. We had laid out some stumps to help us know where we wanted to put the house (which really helped by the way, especially since it moved like 5 times) and you can see the original driveway that is now grown over.

The after picture is taken from the same spot, mostly.

It doesn't look like a huge change until you see before photos from the same spot and it's quite different now!

Tomorrow they are to start the prep for pouring the slab floor! Yay! They will level everything out, put in sand, compact and level, put down foam insulation sheets, put down the rebar that will be intertwined in the floor and then we will put our radiant floor heat pex pipe in! Then they will be ready to pour the slab! And it's supposed to be warm-ish for the next some days! Perfect for a newly poured slab!

The House - Footings

By the end of November, we are ready to pour the footings! Woo hoo! We were stoked!

They've laid out the house and the rebar is unloaded.

Now they start digging the footings with the track-hoe, then a couple guys follow with shovels to clean up the excess and then a couple more guys come in and put in the rebar and make sure the tops are level. Pretty cool system they've got going!

Then they tie all the rebar together with more rebar.

Now it's time to pour!

The main guy helps the concrete shoot in the right place, a guy comes behind him and kind of levels it out, then a set of guys come behind him with a board to "trough" it out.

I'm a little behind as you may have seen! Haha! With-in the next couple days I'll post the underground plumbing and electric!

Our One Year Anniversary!

For our One Year Anniversary in October, Jacob took me on a surprise adventure. He told me what to pack and otherwise I was clueless. I guessed camping, which was sort of, kind of, near what we were doing, but not. Thank goodness! Haha! Just kidding! We went to Alabaster Caverns which is near-ish to Woodward. We rented a room at the Lodge there, which was really great, and then we went hiking!

Of course no photographer's adventure is complete without their camera! Not all of these great shots are mine! Jake is quite the landscape photographer!

You might be wondering what the pictures just above this are. Jacob's gift to me what this beautiful pearl necklace! My gift was the pop-up card and the oragami boat. Now, my presents look quite lame, especially since his was so awesome! We had agreed to get each other "paper gifts" in honor of the one year anniversary gift tradition. However, Jacob, being Jacob, couldn't go for that. The truth is, he wanted to get me a pearl necklace like this as a wedding gift last year, but couldn't find what he was looking for. So he got me/us a couple's bible. He claims that he simply traded last years gift and this years gift. Haha!

It was quite a relaxing weekend. We hiked but my brain and emotions got a break!

I'm so blessed! God sure knew what he was doing!

Encomium - Molly's Etsy

Lately, I thought it would be cool to post more personal blogs. Also, I have been wanting to do "Feature Blogs" about people and what they do. You read several weeks ago, a blog about my cousin and her singing!

This week I wanted to feature my sister! My sister, Molly Castor, has an Etsy site called "Encomium"! Awesome, huh?! She makes awesome accessories and re-purposes things she finds at thrift stores and other random places! Her biggest topic of sell is furniture! I'll just let you check out pictures of her work and read her answers to a few questions!

1.) How did you hear about Etsy?

If I remember correctly it was around the time I discovered podcasts (and way before I even had a decent Ipod) and was searching for a craft-centered one and Etsy came up. I just figured it was some kind of a blog. I followed the link and fell in love with this handmade world!

2.) What made you decided to start your Etsy shop?

I love to make things and have always wished I could find some avenue to sell things besides garage sales. I figured what do I have to lose? It is pretty low cost to open up an online shop through Etsy, so it was the perfect opportunity for a broke high school sophomore to display some creations.

3.) Would explain the meaning of your shop's title, Encomium?

The first thing you do on Etsy is choose your store name, and after it is chosen you can NEVER change it. I felt like I had to find the perfect name that was unique and not real cliche, but also encompassed what I really wanted out of my shop. And then I thought, well what do I really want out of life? I want to worship God with my life, but pertaining to store names, I really didn't want to do a cliche name (no offense to anyone that does this) like God Is Love, Child of God or something like that. So I googled words and came across Encomium. It means "a formal expression of high praise" and I thought, what would work better? I want my hobby to be an expression of praise! It may seem silly to desire to worship God through craft projects, but I believe every single thing you do can be an act of worship, depending on where your heart is. I'm not saying I pray over the things I make or anything, but I often incorporate scripture into things I make as well as on my website. It's a pretty weird sounding name, and people often are like "what the heck, did you make that up?" but when I tell them what it means, they often appreciate it.

4.) How did you get into re-creating furniture and other items?

I had found this interesting shaped side table at my favorite thrift store and thought, that would be so cute if it was painted! But I have no where to put it? AH! I can sell it! and thus it began.

5.) What would you say your most favorite project has been so far and why?

I'm not sure that I could pin it to just one thing. It often depends on my mood. However, my favorite part of the projects is the look on someones face at the thrift store/ garage sale when I'm buying a whole bunch of random/ crappy things, yet I know that (hopefully) when I'm finished they won't even be able to recognize it.

6.) What is your favorite color?

Blue and Green! I don't mean to but most of the time, my tables at least, often are those colors :/ I am trying to branch away, but they just always look the best to me.

7.) Have you learned anything through having your shop?

I have learned alot about shipping and how mail works! I've had a few mishaps as a newby where I had no clue about shipping costs and all of that made me learn quickly. Paypal is a lifesaver!

8.) Do you have any further comments to your fans and/or future clients?

I suppose that I would say that to keep supporting! Once I have more time (hopefully after college) I would love to make it into more of a consistent thing! I love creating things and I hope to keep refining my... "skill"? And thank you for your support so far! The shop has made 38 more sales than I ever thought it would!

The House - Waterlines and Hydrants

In late October, Jacob, my Dad, and I put in the water lines from the city tap to the 3 hydrants and then to main line that will go into the house!

Jacob rented a trencher and started digging! Yes, the trencher runs pretty slow, so he's not being silly for not being on it.

My Dad had to dig around where we were connecting to the City by hand since you can't risk ripping up their line.

Okay, I can't take credit, I actually ran errands most of the day other than later when I helped my dad with the T's, but, here I am, a picture of me on the trencher... Haha!

As you can see below we have the wholes dug, now time to put in the pipe!

Yes, everything was checked by officials and so we buried the lines! Good to go!

Below, Jacob is trenching a line from where the yard/pole light will go to where the electric meter will be.

Mr & Mrs Jones - October 1, 2011

Jacob and I had so much fun at this wedding! We go to church with some of the family members. Chris and Jennifer are some of the most joyful people I know! Laughing, smiling, and loving! Robin's Nest Blueberry Tarts

Several weeks ago, our church did another set of "Eat, Love, Pray" Groups on Sunday night. It's where 5 homes host a get together at their house and prepare food with the help of others! I was one of the "others" and I brought Blueberry Tarts! Something about tea party food makes me happy... and maybe I feel kind of classy! Haha!

The original recipe is actually for Raspberry Tarts, but considering it's not a great season for tarts and that the one's at my grocery store looked gross, I substituted with blueberries!

And of course this post wouldn't be very fun for you if I didn't include the recipe!

"Primrose Tea Raspberry Tarts"

(Makes 24 tarts)

3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (I used salted butter because that's what I had and it was fine)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Non-stick cooking spray for the pan (A MUST REGARDLESS OF THE PAN YOU ARE MAKING THEM IN!)

For the filling:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (again with the salted vs unsalted)
2 tablespoons heavy cream
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon grated orange zest (I used a dried spice form of this since my mom had it)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
24 fresh raspberries (I bought one package of blueberries and was able to put 3 on each tart since they were smaller than a raspberry)

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. In the bowl of an electric mixer combine the cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter. Add the flour and 1/4 teaspoon of the salt and mix until just combines. Place the dough in the refrigerator to chill for 15 minutes. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into 24 balls. Chill the dough balls briefly. Coat (all over) the cups of a mini muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place a ball of dough in each cup and press the cough on the bottom and up the sides of the cup and use a tart tamper to shape the mini tarts in the pan. Refrigerate while you prepare the filling.

The filling: In a bowl of an electric mixer, beat the sugar, egg, 2 tablespoons butter, the cream, orange juice, orange zest, the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, and vanilla until creamy. Spoon into the prepared mini crusts and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the filling is set. Cook completely before removing from the muffin pans. Place a raspberry int he center of each tart and refrigerate until ready to serve.

This recipe came from my Mom's copy of "Jan Karon's Mitford Cookbook & Kitchen Reader" by Jan Karon! I think since the original title was creative with the "primrose" with the raspberries, I think I'll change it to "Robin's Nest Blueberry Tarts" since I used a different fruit and it gave it a different look!

The House - Dirt Work

Well last week I posted the before photos of the house and land and everything. We have finished the dirt work now and I can't wait to share the change! It's amazing! Sometimes I don't recognize the lot! We had to get rid of 3 trees and I think that is really whats throwing us the most! Here are some photos of Jacob cutting and taking out the trees! He is such a Handsome Stud!

Here are a couple photos, or shall we say "action shots" of the dirt work taking place!

So here you go! Before and After photos! And FYI, we set up three posts to help us keep track of where we take photos from so that before and after pictures make more sense!

Above you can see the beginning of the driveway! We have a driveway! Woot woot! Obviously there is not a tree here anymore! You can see the hydrant in the same place and that we have had to take out a lot of the fence that was there.

Above again, more driveway! Woot!

Obviously this tree is gone as well, which it was rotting and falling to bits anyways. You can also see in the after photo the dirt pad!

Viola! The makings of a foundation! The dirt work didn't take very long at all! When they first finished we thought they had planted a mountain on top of the hill! We are a little more used to it now!

This would be the front right side of the house! P.S. I am the one who mows this. Yup! I think I'm the one who does it because it's a simple task I can do and it bothers me more than Jacob... maybe. Anyway, I do it and I am so proud of how much better it looks!

This will be Jacob's favorite view when we are done. The garage!

Project Organization: The Bathroom Drawer

Several months ago, my husband requested I buy some sort of drawer organization for his bathroom drawer. He was tired of chasing the everyday stuff all over the drawer. So I bought him some cheap silverware baskets and he loves them! Did the trick! But then, there was my drawer. A lot going on, a lot more items. It really didn't bother me much because my drawer was so full things didn't slide to the back as bad. But then I got tired of chasing my bobby-pins! Under things, at the back of the drawer, not in plain sight for me to grab one when needed. So as you can see below, a BEFORE photo.

And now for the AFTER!

It really was a very simple fix! I bought the same baskets I bought for Jake just double the amount. I also bought a "catch-all-tray" that is used usually for catching screws, nails, etc in your tool box but it makes a perfect bobby-pin catcher!

Starting from the left to the right: my zebra make-up bag, holding all make-up, brushes and tweezers and nail clippers, an easy grab and go when packing; first basket-hair accessories, bobby-pins, headbands, ribbon, clips; second basket- toothbrush and paste, headband to hold back the hair when washing the face, cotton pads for applying astringent, Q-tips, extra hair bands, the polish color I'm currently wearing; third basket- brushes, combs, tiny clear pony holders; back basket- nose spray, benadryl cream (for all the lovely spider bites! arg), anti-biotic ointment, cough drops, etc.; the round box- head bands

And I think my total cost was less than $10! I'm pretty sure the magnetic tray only cost about $3 and the baskets come in sets of 2 and I think they were roughly $1.50-$2 each! Sweet, eh!?

Toilet Paper Rolls - Anastassia Elias

I have a confession. When I was younger I was such a passionate crafter, artist, re-purposer, that I was probably more like a hoarder. Do you even know how much awesome stuff you can use a toilet paper roll for!? Littlest pet shop tunnels, Barbie furniture, and many more kid crafts! But apparently about 50 of those empty puppies stashed under my sink was NOT going to fly with my mother! Into the trash they all go!

But I'm completely past those days, seeing as how I'm usually the person who THROWS IT AWAY just to get it OUT OF MY SIGHT rather than trying to re-purpose or garage sell. I might be like my mother in that way a bit. Yes, I do still have a few items that stick around because it has a re-purpose, but nothing compared to my childhood ways.

Now, enough about me and my little odd ball childhood stuff. This artist, Anastassia Elias appears to be putting these little sculptures in toilet paper rolls. Now, I don't really know that for sure, because I can't read the language her site is in, but aren't these just the coolest!?

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely lady and her husband and their bump! Haha! It was the first maternity session I did that I also did her Senior photos! Very cool!

We had a lot of fun on this session! I think Scotty thought that we were a little "goofy" but they pictures turned out great! I can't wait to photograph their little one!

Bobbi Castor, You Rock My Socks!

My cousin, Bobbi Castor, has been incredibly blessed with her singing ability! And I love how she is pursuing it! Unfortunately I missed her singing at West Fest this past Saturday, on the 10th, but her older brother, Chris, put a video of her singing her last song online and I added a few photos as well!

I asked Bobbi about her experience at West Fest and here are a few of thing she said. She said that it was her first year performing as an entertainer and that it was a good experience and its always a good experience to get to sing like that. She really loved getting together and doing this with her band because although she sings with them every Sunday at church, it was really awesome to be able to get together and jam! She wanted to point out how it's always cool to perform for our hometown and get to see a lot of people you know enjoying it and dancing!

She was once asked what kind of performing she likes best, drums, singing, etc. Her response was that she mainly loves performing in general! Whether she is acting, singing, play thing the drums, she loves to perform in whatever it is!

Her and her band did about 10 songs in their 45 minute period at West Fest from artists including John Mayer, Bon Jovi, Katie Tunstall, Duffy, and Maroon 5! She said although she loves the song, "Proud Mary" seen in the above video, her favorite that they performed was "Harder to Breathe" by Maroon 5.

Bobbi ended with, "I always enjoy singing, but I always want to be humble. When I'm asked to sing I really enjoy it and am honored to be asked, but I always want to give God all the glory, and make sure I do that. I think it's really cool that our town does stuff like that and am honored to be a part of it!"

Baby Weston - Sweetest Little Thing

On August 9th, the sweetest little baby was born! Yes, I feel as I can be partial to this little guy seeing as how he is my nephew! Its so fun to be an aunt!

Weston is such a good little guy! He's pretty quiet and loves being held but also doesn't seem to mind laying on his blanky, stretching out!

Below I've added some maternity photos we took of my lovely sister-in-law, before Weston made his big debut!

I'd like to say Weston and I pretty good buds! He doesn't cry when I hold him and he even let a big stinky when I was holding him the other day! But enough about me! To the pictures!

The House - In the Beginning

Well Ladies and Gentleman! It has begun! What was once a dream is actually going somewhere!

In case you are completely out of the loop, my wonderful husband and I are building our home! Whoo! There are four acres to the south of my mother-in-law and she split it into 3 for each of her boys. We have the furthest north section. We have been working on planning and planning and planning and planning and planning and planning and planning and planning and designing and planning..... and planning for quite a while now and now everything is basically squared away and we are beginning to see the first steps towards our dream! In the first photo you are looking in the direction where the house will be planted! You can see some little stumps and posts marking edges of walls and porches, an attempt of Jacob's to help me understand the size of things. And there are some dirt piles out there from a job that we had dirt left over from.

Below I've added a nifty panoramic view of the land! It's so cool! I did this in June before I mowed and before any work had been done and while the trees and other things were still original. I'll do several of these panoramic things as we go, so you can get the full effect!

What you see below is the view basically from Judy's front porch. To the right of the photo is where the house will go and to the left is where the road is. Where I'm standing for the photo, I'm basically on the property line between Judy's and ours.
What you see in the above photo is similar to the first photo except from the lot line between Judy's and ours. So later you will see the north side of the house from here.

In the photo below you see a large expanse of not much right now but soon there will a lot going on here!
And here again, another shot of where the house will be. If there was a house here you would be looking at the garage doors and the kitchen window and the lovely porch!

Wilczek Wedding - Sneak Peek!

I love Jeremy and Michelle! They have two hearts of gold! They are always incredibly sweet and funny! I was honored to photograph their engagement session, Michelle's bridal session, which I will share tomorrow, and then their wedding!

Jeremy's sister, Lori, was my PLC Scholarship leader my first two years of college! She is fabulous! Always encouraging and similar to Jeremy and Michelle, sweet and funny! I was so excited to hear that they wanted me and my husband to photograph this special chapter of their lives together!

The church was gorgeous, mirroring the beauty of Jeremy and Michelle's love! (yeah, I'm a sap!) And I especially loved her bouquet, which held broaches from family members.

I also loved seeing the love between each of their set of parents! A lot of times on a wedding day I am so involved in my "job" I miss little interactions between parents and or siblings. But it was so great to see the model Jeremy and Michelle will follow in.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Wilczek! I'm so glad we have met and I feel as I can call you friends! God bless your marriage!

In August I had the honor of watching my best friend get married! Okay well, I watched, photographed and was a part of her wedding! :D OH and Jacob, my wonderful and most talented husband, did her flowers and I did her hair. Haha!

It was a very busy, beautiful day in central Oklahoma! The two love-birds, Gabe and Tia finally tied the knot, with friends and family surrounding them with love and laughter! They and many others had longed for this day for quite a while!

Everyone and everything looked fabulous! Gabe danced down the isle, no surprise, and I got to witness my gorgeous best friend, Tialyn, shed a tear as she walked down the isle to her groom! True love and dedication are meek adjectives that describe their love for each other and I just pray my photos grasped some bit of it to share with you!

I am so excited to see where God takes their lives and and how he blesses them! I love you both!

Baby sessions, well are about like sessions with children, and well, you see, they are a bit crazy! I mean, I am usually fine, snapping away, catching every charming thing about your child, but well you see, the parents, are usually freaking out! They think their little mr or miss isn't giving me what I want! But the amazing thing about photographing children and babies is that we photograph the high points and forget the rest! Really! It's great! I'm not worried during the session because behind the lens it's going great but since the parents can't really see exactly behind my lens, poor guys are clueless! Well that is of course until they see the photos! And then there is a great sigh of relief! And you hear, "Wow! When did they do that!" Or other exclamations of my miracle working! Well, as I said before, this session didn't go any different! Mom was so worried that little mr was horrible and I didn't get anything good until she saw the photos! I love my job! Taking an average day and making it great!

Like many people, I don't wake up every morning and jump out of bed singing a lovely song, ready to do work and be productive! Actually, I do wake up feeling motivated to do work and be productive, creating and editing beautiful photos, but somehow in the first 30 minutes of sitting at my desk in the morning I get distracted, checking facebook, e-mails, blogger dashboard, yeah, I don't get down to being productive very quickly! I know this all may come as a surprise to you! I mean no one gets distracted while sitting at the computer! ... right?

Well needless to say, I recently watched a very inspirational video segment of a photographer's "Creative Live" video! I wished I would have payed more attention and would have signed up for this! Jasmine Star is an amazing inspiration to me! I love her natural light photography, her clean and honest style! She is humble and works very hard! When I sit at my computer and think, oh, I don't really feel like doing work, but the truth is I have no reason to not work, I am reminded that this is my job and that my clients are depending on me to do my best!

You know I doubt I will ever be as big as Jasmine or any of her other lovely popular friends, but I plan to do my best always, and I pray my best is something great and that I can provide my clients with amazing work they cherish! I'm not looking to be super traditional and fit into the cookie cutter mold everyone might think I need to be in! I'm going to do what I love in the style that I love and laugh and enjoy life as it comes, photographing each day, special or not!

Jacob and I went to the farm a couple days! Grandpa was showing him a lot of farming things and he really enjoyed the time there! I tagged along on one feeding and watering extravaganza and of course the camera came as well! Aren't the little calves so cute!

Speaking of May, I wanted to share some photos I took last May in my parent's backyard! I have decided that I LOVE poppies and I told Jake that he needed to plant a huge section of poppies!

The Emerald Atlas! I LOVE this Book!

Since I have recently been freed from the grasp of organized education, I have had more time to do things I really enjoy! Like reading! I read this book my mother had suggested to me called "The Emerald Atlas!" WOW! It's my new favorite book! I can't wait for the sequels! I asked my mom to do a brief book review over it, you know since she is the librarian and all, and I would guest blog her!

She actually blogged about this book on her blog yesterday, so I'm going to give you a teaser and then you gotta go to her blog to see the rest!

"As the forces of darkness drew near on Christmas Eve, siblings Kate, Michael and Emma were whisked from their parents and hidden away in an orphanage. May is so pretty! So many colors and the grass and trees are all pretty again! Ahh.... I love it when it's warm but not hot! In May, I had the pleasure of photographing to fun people in Chickasha for their engagement photos, two friends in Woodward, and a senior boy in Chickasha. You could say I traveled a bit!

I had the pleasure of photographing Jacob's oldest brother and his fiancé at the time's engagement photos in Tulsa! We had so much fun!! And we ended at the Philbrook Museum! We went out to the gardens area and before we left my very special someone proposed!

I married a wonderful man, Jacob Edward Kamolz, on October 16th whom I love dearly and who is the jelly to my toast

Strengthened a relationship with Judy, my mother-in-law (she prefers mother-outlaw)

Jacob and I went to Falls Creek as cooks!

We went to California with my awesome family

I watched my sister and cousin graduate High School

We lost our Great Grandma Memaw

I learned how to make fried chicken from Jacob's Granny

I wrote a 21 page paper over beauty in the human form for my college degree

We lost Jacob's Grandma Louise

I show cased a senior exhibition with two other talented girls

I had the honor to photograph my two sets of brother and sister-in-law's weddings!

I revamped my photography business (TBA)

We joined an awesome Sunday School class

My husband and I enjoyed our first Christmas

I was reminded for all wonderful things to be thankful for during Thanksgiving

We purchased a new camera, lighting equipment, and editing equipment to enhance my abilities in photography

I led music at our church's VBS as Thelma!

Watched as my future husband was ordained as a deacon

Went to my sister's senior high school prom with my fiance, at the time and my parents cuz Jacob and I are geeks like that! Haha!

Lived in 5 different locations and moved four times

Almost went to a Micheal Buble concert but had a wonderful girls night instead

Played gator golf and raced go-carts with a group of girls I love for my bachelorette party

Jacob and I drove to Branson, MO for our honeymoon

Learned how to make noodles from scratch and how to can jelly from my awesomely creative momma

Discovered my love for pottery on the wheel

I learned the importance of patience and learned the awesome power of God's sovereignty and to put my faith in him

Business Plans!

Hello! I'm so excited! I am graduating on December 10th! That is in 29 days, 2 hours, 13 mins and 20 secs away! Yay!

Not only am I excited about graduating because I will be finished with school and I will get to live and love with my husband everyday, but also that means more time for Sae Photography!

Yay! I will be designing a new website with new products and prices and packages for my lovely clients to choose from! We will have t-shirts, stickers, and so much more fun-ness!

I will have time to do more clients and I will be able to get things back to my clients quicker since I will have more time to work!

I am so excited for this new chapter of life!!!
